Welcome to our 2017/2018 Season!

Momentum

Momentum is our theme this season, and we are very grateful for artist (and Whatcom Chorale alto) Susan Bennerstrom’s captivating paintings, which will lead us deeper into each concert.

Pause

Tom's Pond by Susan Bennerstrom

As the stark outlines of winter give way to spring’s rebirth, enjoy an afternoon of rich melody and reflection.  Whatcom Chorale presents Frostiana, Randall Thompson’s insightful settings of timeless poetry by Robert Frost, plus selections from Joseph Haydn’s compelling oratorio, Die Jahreszeiten: Winter, and Pietro Mascagni’s Anthem for Spring.

When: Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.
Where: First Congregational Church of Bellingham, 2401 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham

Tickets are available online through Brown Paper Tickets, and beginning three weeks before the concert, at both Bellingham Food Co-ops and Village Books in Fairhaven and Lynden.

Bach & Forward

A bowl of yes by Susan Bennerstrom

Refresh your spirit with the prayerful delights of J. S. Bach’s Jesu Mein Freude and Der Geist Hilft unserer Schwachheit auf.  Then, from the sublime to the satiric, laugh out loud at P.D.Q. Bach’s Liebeslieder Polkas, an ironic homage to the romantic Brahms by the elder Bach’s “only forgotten son.”

When: Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.
