Revel in the mysterious tonalities of Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols as Whatcom Chorale celebrates the joyful wonder of Christmas. Don’t miss this extraordinary performance, which also features the premiere of Winter Solstice by rising Bellingham composer and pianist Henry From, with harpist Jill Whitman.

Lest We Forget

Be among the first to hear Heart Mountain Suite, a poignant work by award-winning composer Sarah Mattox, inspired by the journals of a young Japanese-American woman interned during WWII. Whatcom Chorale is delighted to join Metropolitan Opera Guild mezzo-soprano Kimberley Sogioka, a granddaughter of Heart Mountain internees, to present this stunning choral adaptation. The program will also highlight organist Wade Dingman, accompanying a major organ/choral work.

The Grand and the Intimate

The grand finale to our 2018-2019 season will be Mozart’s Coronation Mass with orchestra and soloists, and Ordinary Prayers, a new song cycle with music by Scott Henderson and poetry by Jill Bigler.
